The house was clean and gorgeous, with a lovely backyard perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. Though there was no central AC (which we learned was quite common in the city) there was a portable AC unit set up in the bedroom which cooled the upstairs without issue. The location and neighborhood was great with lots of local stores within walking distance.

Super clean, quiet house on a chill, family-friendly block. The house had everything we needed and was adequately stocked with all the things you might need to cook and clean. Really appreciated the washer dryer and provided laundry detergent! Given the layout of the house, it’s probably best suited to families — upstairs has two bedrooms but they’re essentially the same room — but close friends/ couples could make it work. Beds were super comfy. Shower was great too. We slept soundly every night. Hosts responded quickly and were super communicative. A great experience — thank you! Highly recommend! The house was quite stuffy and the fan downstairs, didn’t do much to move the stale air. The portable air con unit upstairs was appreciated — and 100% necessary in summer, I’m sure — but it wasn’t properly fitted into the window. I didn’t love that there was access to the basement suite (although locked, of course) and the back door didn’t seal properly at the bottom, which made me think it might be easy to jimmy open. I think an interior dead bolt would have made me feel safer, although the neighbourhood seemed safe, so my anxiety was assuaged after the first night or two.

House was clean and beautiful. Lots of space. Everything was there for cleaning, cooking, doing laundry etc. It’s in a nice quiet neighbourhood that was close to shops and central in the city.

This place is adorable, inside and out. Clean, modern decor and gorgeous glass light fixtures throughout. Beautiful wood and tile floors. A long dining table in a big kitchen with all the expected amenities and a dishwasher! A beautiful deck with red adirondack chairs and planters full of flowers overlooking a green garden with Japanese maple and bamboo trees. A study with a desk facing the front porch and a huge comfy pouf that our kiddo claimed immediately. So much space and natural light! Plenty of storage. The bathroom sink has plenty of counter space for everyone's toiletries. We enjoyed being able to open the glass doors to the back deck and could not get over the beauty of the garden view from the living room. Thoughtful touches included personalized keyless entry, a tower fan downstairs and an air conditioner upstairs (the weather was hot, so these were much appreciated), plenty of delicious ground coffee waiting for us, more towels than we needed, and incredibly comfortable beds. It's a quiet neighborhood at night, and we slept very well. During the day, everyone we passed on the street said hello, and the block also features picnic tables, lots of beautiful street trees, a little free library, and even a help-yourself herb garden! Easy access to nearby bus stops and parking right in front. The place was immaculately clean and neat. Jerry and Jos are such friendly and responsive hosts who gave us recommendations for grocery shopping, and when we let them know the toaster had a problem, they ordered a new toaster that arrived early enough for breakfast the next morning. We loved our stay! Being in this cozy home in this wonderful neighborhood made me want to move to Vancouver. Nothing major. The only toilet is on the upper floor, so you do have to plan ahead. And the shower is over a tub, which may not be ideal but is perfectly functional.

The home is in a wonderful location; it’s quiet, but there are restaurants and a community grocery store / market within walking distance. The home also gets so much natural light and is very spacious! There’s plenty of street parking even with a truck. Lastly, the hosts are really helpful and responsive. :)
